Strike: Resident doctors in FMC, Owo, rule out skeletal services
The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owo in Ondo State says it will provide any skeletal service during its current strike. The branch President, Dr Ibikunle Fakorede, said members would comply fully with the national body’s directive to observe total strike. NARD embarked on strike on Monday over unpaid arrears of salaries in both federal and state tertiary health institutions across the country. Other demands include non-inclusion of resident doctors in the Federal Government’s integrated salary pay structure, lack of funding for residency training and non-enrollment of their members on pension arrangemen.
